Licchavi House – Interdependence of the five element

Licchavi House is proud to present "The Interdependence of the Five Elements", a groundbreaking exhibition that brings together nine distinguished Nepali women artists for a profound exploration of our elemental existence through contemporary art. Curated by Michelle Lama, this significant cultural event will open to the public on June 27, 2025, at the Nepal Art Council in Babar Mahal, Kathmandu, with an opening reception from 5 PM onwards, and will remain on view through July 12, 2025.

This exibition deliberately centers Nepali women's voices, creating an essential platform for artists who have historically been underrepresented in Nepal's art scene. The participating artists - Sushma Shakya, Bidhata KC, Barkha Mukhia, Rashmi Karn, Vaishali Chhetri, Anjila Manandhar, Meena Kayastha, Sushila Singh, and Tenzin Sangmo - represent diverse geographic regions and artistic practices from across the country.
